Hello Intel parents,

The Boosters would like to welcome you to the Intel information page specifically for BASIS Chandler families who currently work for Intel. We have a special relationship with these parents since Intel is so generous with their community outreach.

This page will breakdown the different options available to you as Intel employees (just in case you were unfamiliar with these programs).

Intel Involved Matching Grant Program

The Intel Involved Matching Grant Program aims to recognize and motivate Intel employees, globally, to engage in outreach and volunteerism to make our communities a better place to live, work, and play.

How this program works: After a minimum of 20 hours has been accrued by Intel employees volunteering at a school or qualified non profit organization, a donation or "match" of $10 per hour volunteered will be triggered from the Intel Foundation with a maximum of $15,000 for schools, and $10,000 for other non profits, per eligible organization per year.

Activities are eligible when employees’ gifts of time, labor, and expertise are given to the non profit organization without compensation for their time or efforts. Eligible activities must provide the majority of the benefit to members of the community beyond other Intel employees or their families.

As an example, Mr. Smith, an Intel manager whose son attends BASIS Chandler, volunteers his time for the Boosters. In one month, he donates 15 hours to lunch service, 3 hours for assisting at a music concert and 2 hours for the BASIS Chandler Homecoming. In total, that is 20 hours. This automatically triggers the match program and for every hour Mr. Smith gives to volunteering, thereafter, Intel will pay $10 to the Boosters.

Aside from volunteering for the BASIS Chandler lunch program, the Boosters will be offering several opportunities throughout the school year for parents. Please take advantage of this generous program.

Intel Benevity Fund

Intel participates in a "give-back-to-the community" program with Benevity.

How the funding works: For every donation Intel employees give to BASIS Chandler Boosters, Intel matches their donation through the Benevity Fund.  For example, if Mrs. Jones, a director for Intel, gives the BASIS Chandler Boosters a donation of $200, then Intel would match the $200 donation. The Boosters end up with $400 donation.

Special occasions: Sometimes and usually during the holidays, Intel and Benevity will encourage donation activity by offering to double the amount donated by Intel employee. So that $200 donation from Mrs. Jones, Intel doubles the amount to $400 and the Boosters receive $600 in donation. The Boosters rely on this program to help contribute to the annual Holiday Teacher Fund.

With 2018 being the 50th anniversary of Intel, rumors persist that Intel may triple or quadruple match to mark the special occasion. Stay tuned for more details.
